Credit Where It is Due

I like to make photographs, and I enjoy being praised for what I have done. But God teaches a different attitude, one of thankfulness and humility. He pointed that out to me recently. I DO NOT MAKE THESE PHOTOGRAPHS ALONE. I didn't create the light, or the technology which makes photography possible. I didn't buy my camera, it was a gift from my husband. I didn't give myself the ability to see through the camera in order to make an image which others find pleasing. It is right to use what I have been given to the best of my ability, but it is wrong to take credit for what I have not done. God made the light, the elements which are used to manufacture the camera, and the world from which these images come. He has given me gifts: people to teach me, eyes to see with, and a brain to process information. I am thankful for these gifts. He deserves all the praise, not I.

Bench & Footbridge in B&W

This walkway is beside a marina. The water is so far down right now that all the slips are sitting on the bottom, but in a couple of months it will be full of water and ready for business. The footbridge leads to the patio of a restaurant which faces the street; there are also other footbridges which connect with other restaurants. It is a very pleasant walk, even without water!

Check out Scenic Sunday, Shadow Shot Sunday, and Monochrome Weekly to see great photos from all over!

Ooooooh, beautiful winter scene. Almost all black and white--so true of winter.

I admire bridges in of every form and shape, and you caught this one very well with an interseting and difficult lighting.

Enlarging this I found the stone wall in the shadows.
From your description I think this would be a wonderful walk in any season.
Nice shadows!

Mine’s here: Round The Bend.

The shadows are elegant. However, the sun's rays are powerful and extend to the ground. A lovely sight, the sun and shadows interacting in a vision of beauty. Nice!

The black & white makes this shadow shot all the more enticing. I want to walk the path with my pooches and take a seat on the bench!

I almost didn't see the bench, probably because my eyes wer drawn to the bridge, pathway and shadows.

Nice shot dimple. I like the atmospheric mood. BTW, the Molly widget thingy is too big and overlaps your photos.

dear dimple..i think that this bridge looks very romantic...leading to a restaurant.for a hot cup of tea and a toast..or is the restaurant more on the fancy style.
no matter..it would still be nice!
