Credit Where It is Due
I like to make photographs, and I enjoy being praised for what I have done. But God teaches a different attitude, one of thankfulness and humility. He pointed that out to me recently. I DO NOT MAKE THESE PHOTOGRAPHS ALONE. I didn't create the light, or the technology which makes photography possible. I didn't buy my camera, it was a gift from my husband. I didn't give myself the ability to see through the camera in order to make an image which others find pleasing. It is right to use what I have been given to the best of my ability, but it is wrong to take credit for what I have not done. God made the light, the elements which are used to manufacture the camera, and the world from which these images come. He has given me gifts: people to teach me, eyes to see with, and a brain to process information. I am thankful for these gifts. He deserves all the praise, not I.
Nice contrast of perpendicular lines, and nice receding into the distance. I also think b&w works well in this photo The extraneous stuff (empty framework) to the top right does detract a bit, however. I think one could try cropping it out. (I know you didn't ask for a critique, but there it is.)
I don't necessarily agree with AC, above. He sees your photo from one point of view, and I from another. I see it as a marina awaiting its boats, and I see the empty framework awaiting its blue canvas. Then I see the ghost boats sliding into their slips, come summer. Meanwhile, I'm still awaiting spring here in southeastern Alberta. Beautiful photo from any point of view, Dimple. -- K

Makes me wonder on what other shores the boats are resting, or on what far seas they are journeying! I think the line of the jetty is strong enough to hold its own against the framework - certainly the perspective you have of it is just right.
What a handsome view of docks! I never get to see them like this...love the rhythmic reptition that makes for a greater progressions and patterning, especially in black and white.
I'm late to the party Dimple. Nice B&W work. I like the tones and composition. The empty slips tell the tale.
I meant to congratulate you on your pine cone image. You made the wall. That image deserved to be on the wall. The fun and creativity is only beginning when you get the image from your camera. Printing when done right takes your photography to a new level.

this looks like a very nice dock.

Oh, and also the empty framework fits your theme of waiting for the summer - it looks like it has potential to become a marquee!
