Credit Where It Is Due

Credit Where It is Due

I like to make photographs, and I enjoy being praised for what I have done. But God teaches a different attitude, one of thankfulness and humility. He pointed that out to me recently. I DO NOT MAKE THESE PHOTOGRAPHS ALONE. I didn't create the light, or the technology which makes photography possible. I didn't buy my camera, it was a gift from my husband. I didn't give myself the ability to see through the camera in order to make an image which others find pleasing. It is right to use what I have been given to the best of my ability, but it is wrong to take credit for what I have not done. God made the light, the elements which are used to manufacture the camera, and the world from which these images come. He has given me gifts: people to teach me, eyes to see with, and a brain to process information. I am thankful for these gifts. He deserves all the praise, not I.

"Flowers"

These are not what one normally thinks of as flowers,
but they do resemble them.
I saw hundreds of mushrooms and fungal displays last fall,
but found these just the other day.

The fungi do seem to be arranged as petals of a substantial flower. There is quite a symmetry on each mushroom, a style and of course, such natural beauty. You had a nice walk in the woods!

Great shots! Before digital cameras, not many of us would think of taking photos of these things but NOW we don't have to miss out on making photo memories of our adventures.

Your mushrooms today are striking. I managed to find them off and on all winter this year much to my surprise...but none were this prolific or beautiful. They are such a fascinating part of nature. Nice shot.

Fungi are fascinating!

BETTER THAN BLING

Some yellow is just the right thing
To make a sad heart start to sing;
It fills you with cheer—
Now isn’t that clear?—
It’s better than any old bling!

They are uniquely lovely that's for sure! Dimple is a wonderful name. When that generator came out, I gave it a try, too, but I couldn't pronounce it.

Not flowers, but every bit as exotic as the most elegant orchid.

I too think of the forest fungus as flowers. They are often way more ornate than common flowers and they DO have an aroma! Cool Shadow Shots. We're heading up north soon, so you and I must finally plan a meetup in downtown Sandpt. Maybe we could go to MacDuff's and have some soup. We'll get in touch after Easter perhaps?
