Credit Where It Is Due

Credit Where It is Due

I like to make photographs, and I enjoy being praised for what I have done. But God teaches a different attitude, one of thankfulness and humility. He pointed that out to me recently. I DO NOT MAKE THESE PHOTOGRAPHS ALONE. I didn't create the light, or the technology which makes photography possible. I didn't buy my camera, it was a gift from my husband. I didn't give myself the ability to see through the camera in order to make an image which others find pleasing. It is right to use what I have been given to the best of my ability, but it is wrong to take credit for what I have not done. God made the light, the elements which are used to manufacture the camera, and the world from which these images come. He has given me gifts: people to teach me, eyes to see with, and a brain to process information. I am thankful for these gifts. He deserves all the praise, not I.

An enticing photo, Dimple. Exquisite sky, reflected in the lake along with the mountains and the trees.

Blue, blue,blue--and so inviting!

SKY DITTY

A little birdie told me,
Although I don’t know why,
That if I were to look up,
Way up into the sky,
I’d see some wondrous planets,
The moon and sun and stars –
There before my very eyes
Blazed Jupiter and Mars!

This picture makes me think I could walk on water...right across the path of light reflected.

What a beautiful scene. Has me thinking about my upcoming vacation at home. If I can capture that kind of tranquility, it'll be a successful staycation!

Wow, Dimple that is such a lovely place ! Stunning in its beauty ; and I specially like the angle you chose : there is a false symetry very interesting since the trees looks just like the mounts across the river... Well done !

I wanna go there and hang my itching poison eve filled feet in that beautiful blue water. That would be the best medicine for this misery I could imagine. This is one drop dead gorgeous shot. You get an award for this one. Glad you found it in your archives.
