Credit Where It Is Due

Credit Where It is Due

I like to make photographs, and I enjoy being praised for what I have done. But God teaches a different attitude, one of thankfulness and humility. He pointed that out to me recently. I DO NOT MAKE THESE PHOTOGRAPHS ALONE. I didn't create the light, or the technology which makes photography possible. I didn't buy my camera, it was a gift from my husband. I didn't give myself the ability to see through the camera in order to make an image which others find pleasing. It is right to use what I have been given to the best of my ability, but it is wrong to take credit for what I have not done. God made the light, the elements which are used to manufacture the camera, and the world from which these images come. He has given me gifts: people to teach me, eyes to see with, and a brain to process information. I am thankful for these gifts. He deserves all the praise, not I.

From the Bridge

To get to town from home, I have to cross a bridge.
Sometimes traffic is very slow.
Sometimes it stops.

It stopped this day.

Lovely blue sky and bright reflection on the water. There is traffic everywhere these days and we spend a lot of time sitting and waiting. Maybe we are learning patience from this common ordeal! Have a great weekend. Mickie :)

Oh, now....what a beautiful scene to take in and then, I don't know how I'd feel about stopping on a bridge in traffic {I tend to get scaredy sometimes}.

Always nice when the traffic stops to allow you to photograph the scenery! Beautiful shots.

The light sparkling on the water is gorgeous and the little boat is the icing on the cake.

Good thing you had to stop or maybe we wouldn't have seen these photos!

Sweeping sky, sparkling waters...glad you had your camera with you. I'll bet you always travel with it. I'm so forgetful about mine, leaving it at home, seeing something, and wishing I had it...

If you have to get stopped anywhere that seems like a most excellent spot for it to happen.

How beautiful, I think I'd almost wish for traffic to stop so that I could stop and enjoy.

When I see the photos like this, I want to be a bird. Or I was, some lives ago, and just remember the feeling. Thank you for that memories))
