Credit Where It Is Due

Credit Where It is Due

I like to make photographs, and I enjoy being praised for what I have done. But God teaches a different attitude, one of thankfulness and humility. He pointed that out to me recently. I DO NOT MAKE THESE PHOTOGRAPHS ALONE. I didn't create the light, or the technology which makes photography possible. I didn't buy my camera, it was a gift from my husband. I didn't give myself the ability to see through the camera in order to make an image which others find pleasing. It is right to use what I have been given to the best of my ability, but it is wrong to take credit for what I have not done. God made the light, the elements which are used to manufacture the camera, and the world from which these images come. He has given me gifts: people to teach me, eyes to see with, and a brain to process information. I am thankful for these gifts. He deserves all the praise, not I.

Circles

I would like to thank everyone who left their condolences at the passing of my aunt.
She will not soon be forgotten!

Now for my submission to The Weekend in Black and White:

I invite everyone to offer their opinion on what I have found here.
It is a group of objects gathered for a purpose.
Any guesses?

Update: here is a wider, color view of my subject. Everyone who guessed pipes is right!

I tried to leave a message earlier but blogger is doing a lot of strange things lately.

I'm sorry about the passing of your aunt. I lost mine in September. It was nice to reflect on her very full life with others at her going home party.

It looks like a bunch of pipes (for plumbing) or cylinders for sending parcels.

Condolences. Good to "see" you here. I've got nothing more than Joyful's guess.

oh Dimple, the loss was an aunt. I hope your heart is filled with loving memories of a life well-lived.
hmmmm, what could be the subject of your photo. I don't know. stacked straws? a gate made of welded together circles? oh, I know...drainage pipes. ha!
happy weekend to you.

amazing picture. makes one wonder whether one fits, has to fit, is made to fit.
please have a good weekend.

OK, it looks like the ends of PVC pipes...but surely I make that guess only because we're repiping our house :)

Like several others mentioned I am having to sign out and back in my Google account to comment ---not sure why it worksm but everything about Google and Blogger, get more and more irritating, including FACEBOOK. I think they have arrived at Murphy's Law where everyone rise to the level of their inability to achieve more--sorta paraphrased.

Condolences on the passage of your relative

I love this! At first I thought it was a collection of pipes, but now I'm not sure. Is it a screen of some kind?

Hello Dimple.
Just come to wish you a good Sunday - great to see you on the blog again.
Do you think that my last comment was gone.
Hope you are doing well - take good care of yourself.
Hugs Hanne Bente ♥
PS!
I think that the picture you show - is from an aspirator.

Oh no, I'm never good at guessing these things! I would say straws or pipes, but they're stacked too squarely. I hope you tell us!

My condolences on the passing of your beloved aunt.

As for the picture with the circles - it could be one of the commenters' guesses: pipes, cylinders, wine holders, welded circles.

Wonderful patterns, whatever it turns out to be.

I am catching up, we are on the road and I missed your post earlier. I am sorry for your loss, even though it was expected and even if your Aunt had led a full life.

Looks like an end view of stacks of pipes. Then again it could be a security screen. Actually it's really a very good photo now and doesn't matter what it was. lol

I have had great fun with your photo, Dimple, squinting my eyes and making out all the patterns in the picture, but alas, I have no idea what has been used to make this intriguing grate.

I am so sorry for your loss. although as I grow older and lose friends who are fragile in mind and body I begin to realize that death is sometimes a timely friend.

Another guess...leggos.

Drinking straws... that's my guess.

Hello Dimple.
Okay.
I could not see that it was the pipes - thought it looked like wire grid in a hood.
Thanks for your comment on my blog.
The weather here in Denmark is at present. little frost in the night / day + 4-5 degrees - yet we have not had snow.
Wishing you a good day / week.
Take care of yourself.
Hugs Hanne Bente ♥

I was trying to figure out what that "glow" was in the 3 bottom left circles in the close-up photo, but couldn't. now it all makes sense! what a clever shot Dimple! thanks for the fun tease. happy day to you.

Quick thinking Dimple. Pipes were the first image that popped into my head when I first viewed the close up. Thanks for the update. BTW, your link didn't work.
