This shows a tub we put in several years ago, and
the green wallboard we put up. That job was not ever finished...
The tub had a surround, but we took it down before this photo was taken.
The new tub. We had to remove some of the wallboard to get it in, not to mention tipping it on its side so it would go through the door and by the toilet.
The new surround. We put the pieces of wall board back so there would be a surface to glue to...
New wall covering next to the old.
The new vanity. It is just a little larger than the old one, but we decided to use the original vanity top. The piece leaning against the wall will be inserted in the gap. We also decided to re-use the sink and faucet we already had, which were still in good condition and looked nice. They were not original with the home... I will be glad to have drawers!
This is how the tub looks today. I like it!
And this is the latest picture I have of the vanity. Actually, the sink is in and my husband is trying to get the water lines to quit leaking.
We are working on trim today.
Stay tuned for another post...
Now, on another note, I have been given an award! Thanks to Patricia for the Awesome Blog Content Award! I am supposed to pass it on, and I am choosing Don't Convert Me and The Fragile X Files. They are awesome because they make me think. Check them out!

Leaky pipes in winter — not fun — but it looks like you're doing a good job of the remodel. I like the new look on the walls!
We're looking into a kitchen reno, but so far we're just collecting quotations from cabinetmakers, no decisions have been made, except "I hate the kitchen" which I decided years ago. LOL
All the best to you,
K
I like the tub too! It is not much fun renovating a bathroom. I hope it is done and back to normal for you soon.
Your new bathroom looks amazing! Nice job!!
Hello Dimple.
It's a lot of work to renovate a bathroom - good luck with it, am excited to see it finished.
Wishing you a good Sunday.
Hugs Hanne Bente ♥
Bathroom rennovations can be tricky if working with professionals...getting the schedules to work out. But it looks as if you and your hubby are do-it-yourselfers and can control just how things go...lucky ducks!
Looking forward to the final review!
Very nice. You have just reminded me that 2012 is the year I'm supposed to do our bathroom. Problem is, I haven't saved enough yet...
We live in a 30 year old double wide mobile. Almost every room has hand partial or total remodelling moe than once. I love the kitchen best as we tore out all the cabinets, bought cabinets from Home Depot that we put together, but they were finished. We put bead board behind them and built a island with more electric outlets.
One bathroom has a comfort toilet and new vanity. I would like to remove the tub/shower comb w/sliding glass doors and replace with one or those walkin tubs you see on TV, as I cannot use the current tub with my bionic knees. However, since we put a new 4 foot shower (nearly walkin) in the other bathroom and a full handicap toilet plus new lavatory I am content. I'd like to repanel or change wallpaper. We also have vertical shades with solar shades behind them in all rooms of the house. The toilet heights are great for persons with bad hips and knees. I always wondered why regular toilets were lower than a standard chair!!!
Yours really looks nice -- waiting for more installments.
Oh yea, in the washroom, I refaced the typical mobile home cabinets with new doors and paint. Made a huge difference. Not any cheaper than replaceing cabinets, but not so much wear and tear on the body.
Very nice job! Boy, do I ever know how much work a renovation can be! My husband and I are tearing carpet and tiles off out kitchen floor so we can put down new tiles. The carpet had been in for more than three decades so it was time...over-due, actually...for a reno. :)
Great job! I wish I had a tub like that! (Only a shower here._
Quite a change. I admire your efforts ... as I sit around and do little but read these days.
Fantastic work - what a marvelous renovation. I need to do some home remodeling.
Yay! A new tub, new vanity, new wall covering ; That's a good start of the new year 2012.
May you greatly enjoy the renovated bathroom!
We totally gutted the master bedroom, bath hallway and guest room three years ago. We moved walls in the bath to make room for my jacuzzi tub. Seemed like it took forever gettin' all the leaks stopped on the new pipes.
'Seems like new would mean no leaks, huh???
Your bathroom is beautiful, quite a transformation there sweetie. You're gonna enjoy it!!!
Congratulations on the well deserved awards!
God bless and have a magnificent day! :o)
Oh yay! A project. We remodeled our house in Oregon up to and including the day we put it on the market when we started full-time RVing. After 11 years free of remodeling we bought the park model and we're already full of ideas and planned projects. Oh well, it was nice while it lasted!
Your Bathroom looks great.
What an exciting renovation, especially since the bathroom is where we spend some time every day for sure, without fail!
Looking forward for more pics!
ANd hey, congrats on your award. It is true your blog has good content. You deserve it!
