I got lucky, this heron didn't fly away. It's friend did.

Nice catch ! Especially great for drive-by shooting. I'm just learning some of the finer points of Picassa but I couldn't live without straighten. My hands shake, even when I'm not shooting from the car.

You make me remember all the herons in Florida and how I really must go after them some day. We have lovely white egrets who wander through our backyard on a daily basis...still I haven't picked up the camera to note them.

The Heron is one of my favorite birds so I just love this photo! We have one that hangs out at our neighborhood pond sometimes and I always stop to admire him/her -- but it as never let me get a photo, at least not yet. I live in hope :-)
