Credit Where It Is Due

Credit Where It is Due

I like to make photographs, and I enjoy being praised for what I have done. But God teaches a different attitude, one of thankfulness and humility. He pointed that out to me recently. I DO NOT MAKE THESE PHOTOGRAPHS ALONE. I didn't create the light, or the technology which makes photography possible. I didn't buy my camera, it was a gift from my husband. I didn't give myself the ability to see through the camera in order to make an image which others find pleasing. It is right to use what I have been given to the best of my ability, but it is wrong to take credit for what I have not done. God made the light, the elements which are used to manufacture the camera, and the world from which these images come. He has given me gifts: people to teach me, eyes to see with, and a brain to process information. I am thankful for these gifts. He deserves all the praise, not I.

Lovely! Remember when you were a kid and you would find pictures in the clouds? These clouds made me think of cauliflower...

Beautiful sky! We were in Yosemite and Eureka this past week. A bit clearer than the haze down here in the valley. :)

Gorgeous!
It was a flat sky and hot and humid here for our foray into summer.

Okay, Dimple, I agree, God created all the beauty you captured, but he gifted you with eyes and talent to get in a photo to share. You should see some of my photos and you'll understand my gifts are squeaking around in other areas. So thanks for sharing these photos of wonder.

We have had some nice cloud formations in the last few days, just no rain.

There is always blessings despite some presumed misery. My county and the next county are under burn bans, so setting off fireworks is against the law. (I know I wrote ordinance for my town).

We hardly can ban selling them, but an awful lot of money in fines may be in city coffers if the law is enforced.

And we have one police chief who just might not be very lenient.

My dog goes berzerk. I have to give her Valium during the 8 day period fireworks are allowed for brief periods of time.
