This spider has been living here lately.
It is huge!
It hides under the mailbox a lot, but today it was on its web.
I don't know what kind of spider it is; I am not a student of creepy-crawlies. But I am impressed!

spiders everywhere this time of year. I don't particularly like them, :))
He's a big one! Everybody always talks about the bugs and creepy crawlies in Florida (where we are in the winter), but we definitely see more spiders here in the Pacific Northwest. Nice pictures of this one busy doing his thing.
I don't see as many spiders here on the prairie as I did on the BC coast. I used to have a cat who took care of the spiders for me, which actually wasn't a good thing when we moved up-country where there were black widows. I don't think he ever ate one of those, though.
Can't imagine what this ferocious-looking critter is, but I thought it looked like a female ready to lay eggs, it has such a plump abdomen.

It's hard to get an idea of how big he is, but I certainly wouldn't pick up the mail if I were you...
