Credit Where It is Due

I like to make photographs, and I enjoy being praised for what I have done. But God teaches a different attitude, one of thankfulness and humility. He pointed that out to me recently. I DO NOT MAKE THESE PHOTOGRAPHS ALONE. I didn't create the light, or the technology which makes photography possible. I didn't buy my camera, it was a gift from my husband. I didn't give myself the ability to see through the camera in order to make an image which others find pleasing. It is right to use what I have been given to the best of my ability, but it is wrong to take credit for what I have not done. God made the light, the elements which are used to manufacture the camera, and the world from which these images come. He has given me gifts: people to teach me, eyes to see with, and a brain to process information. I am thankful for these gifts. He deserves all the praise, not I.

Oh, what dear shadow shots, Dimple! Yes, some things do remain even after they grow up and move on and what lovely memories they leave!

Enjoy your weekend!

So sweet! The cars remind me of my small collection I had when I was a youngster - a lovely shot! Happy SSS!

What a greatshot and shadow.
I still have boxes of my kids' things - but not out like yours. I miss those things!

Cars and airplanes make a boy's imagination work over time. For me anyway :>)

It seems to be the room, the space of a boy. I think our college age son still has Hot Wheels somewhere. Not interesting to hm now, but these toys allowed him to be the great thinker he is now. Now I'm reminiscing!

ditto what Ralph said.. he's my hubby.
;-)
We still have a Lego space shuttle on display that our son made a few years back. It's dusty, but...

I love it when sharp shadows explain the structure, as does this. It's neat how it stands out, when the subject line is less defined with the car shapes and all.

Perfect shadows, like echoes of the little boy that has now grown up.

Oh! I dread that day and yet celebrate it. My boy is 18 and a senior in high school. He drives now, so is gone a lot. I already find myself grieving the loss of that little child who is now a young man.
A lovely tribute you have posted here to that inevitable rite of passage when he leaves the nest.

Great shadow of the plane, it looks like it is actually flying.
Sometimes the things that remain, turn out to mean the most.

Thank you for visiting and commenting on my Mellow-post! What a lovely thought and photo you have for this week's Mellow Yellow Monday.
I have a son that is seven and I daughter that is five. I am constantly thinking about the small changes in them and how one day they will be grown and this time that is NOW will only be a memory.

i think they are priceless dimple.
my boy{bernie] still remains and i have it not in my heart to give away his motorcycle models.
i just don't think that younger kids would look after them...more than likely break them!
those toys left behind by the boys will be treasured heirlooms for the boys children and grandchildren, eh?
i can't find your ruby tuesday, AGAIN!.. hahahaha...love terry

Beautiful veteran cars and plane, made for exhibition more than for play, I guess.
My husband has similar models in his home office. He's a boy of 60!
Many outstanding qualifications in this picture.

My son would have loved that airplane lamp when he was younger. (These days it's all soccer, all the time. That and Harry Potter.)
