Credit Where It Is Due

Credit Where It is Due

I like to make photographs, and I enjoy being praised for what I have done. But God teaches a different attitude, one of thankfulness and humility. He pointed that out to me recently. I DO NOT MAKE THESE PHOTOGRAPHS ALONE. I didn't create the light, or the technology which makes photography possible. I didn't buy my camera, it was a gift from my husband. I didn't give myself the ability to see through the camera in order to make an image which others find pleasing. It is right to use what I have been given to the best of my ability, but it is wrong to take credit for what I have not done. God made the light, the elements which are used to manufacture the camera, and the world from which these images come. He has given me gifts: people to teach me, eyes to see with, and a brain to process information. I am thankful for these gifts. He deserves all the praise, not I.

Machine in my World

Here is the mystery machine! I have used it twice before, those pics are in the upper left. The posts may be seen here and here. Click on the collage to see everything better.
This is called a skidder, it is designed to drag logs from the forest to a place where they can be loaded on a truck. As you can see, it has very large tires (one photo has an auto tire for comparison, and another has a furry model) and a blade for pushing brush into piles or fires. There is a powerful winch with a long cable for retrieving logs from difficult locations.
My husband uses this machine a lot, and it is a regular part of my world.

I think it's the same kind of machine used by our municipality to collect the tree branches thrown away by garden owners after they make order in the garden. That's a weekly service provided to the inhabitants just as the collection of trash is a daily service.

Dimple: Great photos of the skidder, an unusual machine to me. Looks like you put it to good use.
BTW: Please remember to put your state and country on your entry. FG/MW Team

oh this is such a lovely homey picture dimple.
i love it.
when i was a teenager and we used to visit a farm family for days at a time, i never tired of it...such a unrushed life compared to the city..i used to clean up the stables where they kept the cows and never even minded scooping up the "stuff" and loading it into a wheel barrow to put on the manure pile.
i don't think i am imagining it either dimple..the cows really did appreciate having a clean stable!
what really surprised me is that each cow always came to the same place all of the time in the stable...every last one of them and every last time!
what a great life for a child...the farm life!
good post dimple..love terry
