Credit Where It Is Due

Credit Where It is Due

I like to make photographs, and I enjoy being praised for what I have done. But God teaches a different attitude, one of thankfulness and humility. He pointed that out to me recently. I DO NOT MAKE THESE PHOTOGRAPHS ALONE. I didn't create the light, or the technology which makes photography possible. I didn't buy my camera, it was a gift from my husband. I didn't give myself the ability to see through the camera in order to make an image which others find pleasing. It is right to use what I have been given to the best of my ability, but it is wrong to take credit for what I have not done. God made the light, the elements which are used to manufacture the camera, and the world from which these images come. He has given me gifts: people to teach me, eyes to see with, and a brain to process information. I am thankful for these gifts. He deserves all the praise, not I.

Shady Creek Reflection

This was taken about a year ago. It is a little creek which runs near my brother's place in northern California.  I like the blue of the reflected sky and the shadows of the trees.

For more reflections, visit Newtown Area Photo. To see more shadows, head over to Hey Harriet.

It is indeed a very pretty little spot made moreso by the blue of the sky and the dappled shading along the creek bank.

On a warm day this looks like a perfect place to get your feet wet! Nice shot!
I loved wading in the water growing up.

It reminds me very much of a very small creek that runs alongside our summer cottage. When it rains it get full - two days of dry weather and it is a trickle.

It looks peaceful and serene. I could sit there and read, I think.

Nice shot Dimple. I like the blue sky reflection too and the quiet solitude that's implied.

This is a fantastic look at nature. The varying textures are complex, with rock, earth and water together. They work well together in the stream, the blue being the nicest detail that you can add to this. Excellent!

That is a sweet little creek. We have a gully that runs behind our house -- and if it rains REAL HARD, REAL FAST it becomes a creek! Of course, by the time it's no longer muddy, it's also no longer a creek. LOL!
