Credit Where It Is Due
Credit Where It is Due
I like to make photographs, and I enjoy being praised for what I have done. But God teaches a different attitude, one of thankfulness and humility. He pointed that out to me recently. I DO NOT MAKE THESE PHOTOGRAPHS ALONE. I didn't create the light, or the technology which makes photography possible. I didn't buy my camera, it was a gift from my husband. I didn't give myself the ability to see through the camera in order to make an image which others find pleasing. It is right to use what I have been given to the best of my ability, but it is wrong to take credit for what I have not done. God made the light, the elements which are used to manufacture the camera, and the world from which these images come. He has given me gifts: people to teach me, eyes to see with, and a brain to process information. I am thankful for these gifts. He deserves all the praise, not I.

that is a lovely sky.
Lovely... i just would like to be here and fishing..:)
Beautiul miror image!
I guess we have to say goodbye to autumn colors. But the colder-looking sky and scenery are still pretty.
Such a beautiful place. Is that ice on the river? I love the way it softens the reflections, almost like an abstract painting. Kathy
Stunning. Peace and quiet for miles.
Patti-yes, autumn is over. Winter can be breathtakingly beautiful, but the cold keeps me in more and I don't see it as much.
Kathy-yes, that is ice. I saw an ice skater on that stretch today, too bad I couldn't stop for photos!
Great idea to follow a scene from season to season. Should be spectacular in spring and summer. Please pick a day with great skies like you did in that last one.
Beautiful shots - I love the gentle curve of the river. The water looks like a mirror in the first shot. It's nice to take pictures of the same scene through the different seasons to see how the scenery changes.
Really nice photos! The sky and reflections are quite beautiful.
Is that why there appears to be much less water: because it has frozen over. We don't have anything remotely like this in Australia. That is such a good idea: to post shots of the same place in different seasons.
Each season brings its own beauty. Both are lovely photographs - the water seems to have receded latterly?
I love the contrast between these shots. (Great reflections, too!)
Nice Reflections. It is definitely now winter here. Thursday's temp was 12 deg. Today we are starting at 34 deg and cloudy.
OMG, two photos almost of the same angle yet different times! I could still see beautiful clouds and reflection even on ice!
Stay warm!
Fun to see how the reflections change with the seasons ;-)
Hugs and blessings,

Another time of day I guess. Very nice!
It seems as if the seasons change so quickly. The ice is very lovely but like you I seem to stay inside more when it is cold.

Such a big contrast in such a short amount of time - love it.
oh! these are just dandy dimple.
that one picture, it looks like the trees are using that lake as one giant looking glass..
