Credit Where It is Due
I like to make photographs, and I enjoy being praised for what I have done. But God teaches a different attitude, one of thankfulness and humility. He pointed that out to me recently. I DO NOT MAKE THESE PHOTOGRAPHS ALONE. I didn't create the light, or the technology which makes photography possible. I didn't buy my camera, it was a gift from my husband. I didn't give myself the ability to see through the camera in order to make an image which others find pleasing. It is right to use what I have been given to the best of my ability, but it is wrong to take credit for what I have not done. God made the light, the elements which are used to manufacture the camera, and the world from which these images come. He has given me gifts: people to teach me, eyes to see with, and a brain to process information. I am thankful for these gifts. He deserves all the praise, not I.

Benches, Shadows, and Reflections
So today, text is first, and I hope the photo will cooperate later!
Yeah!!!
I went for a walk on a beautiful afternoon earlier this week, and I kept my camera busy! I think this is a neat shot looking down the main route through town. You can see three benches, each different from the others. I don't know if RuneE is still doing Friday benches, but I'm linking there just in case, and if you like benches as a photographic subject, PERBS posts a bench or two every day. The window reflections are for James's Weekend Reflections. Finally, the shadows of trees and benches bring Shadow Shot Sunday to mind. Stop by these great blogs and take a look!

great combinations, the big glass behind the bnch captured the moving vehicle, lots of shadows there too.
This is, indeed, a great picture. Thanks for the links too.
Terrific bench and relection too! How neat that the whole street is lined with them!
Thanks for mentioning my bench blog.
In case you did not know, I also post a bench every day since two years on my second blog! That's why i like your picture: great reflections, AND nice benches!Ü
I love benches, glad you mentioned the 3 different ones. Nice!

Great fun with the reflection creating perspective! Good stuff!
Wonderful reflection photo. You captured so many in the one shot, well done!
I love the perspective you chose for this. The reflections and shadows are great. What a pretty little town. Kathy
A great inspiration!
A sturdy bench indeed- Just the place to sit and watch the world go by.
PS I have been away, so there is no bench from me this week.
PPS The substance is snow.
The shadows and reflections are so nice, your town beautiful and a neat destination. The sun is inviting and the shadows artistic. I see how comfortable this is, a fun day of shopping and sightseeing awaits all visitors...
ha ~ I happened to post a bench today for Shadow Shots!
I like the perspective in your photo. Nice streetscape!
Is that a bamboo bench? Looks like we have in the Philippines.
Happy SS...
How nice! Love the sun glinting off the car!
Dimple, This is a great reflection. And the bench looks comfortable so I think I will stop and sit a while. :)
I like the wooden benches and I also like the wonderful old brick buildings in the reflection.
Hello Dimple! So nice to meet you and enjoy the walk down Main street of your town!
Thank you for stopping by my place and leaving your comment!
Kindly, ldh
That's a great capture! So much going on there. Really nice shot! Have a great week!
What a wonderful sidewalk full of shadows and an inviting bench to enjoy it all. Perfect find and capture!
I love American sidewalks and you're bringing them to me! Lovely!
That's a great reflection!
it looks warm there!
I like the perspective dimple. The benches are one thing but the cars and the street in the "wrong" place are great.
Kind of Sci-Fi with an alternate universe in the windows! Happy Shadow Shot Sunday!
OMG I knew that photo seemed like home for some reason...we live up there too!! Were on Schweitzer for several years & now up in BF!! Until my hubby retires I'm a snowbird, then we'll be up there full time. Small world.
McDuff's is one of my blogging hangouts in the summer!!!
Wonderful multi-tasking with this versatile photograph! Glad things worked so you could share it.
Hugs and blessings,
Small Reflections
