Credit Where It is Due
I like to make photographs, and I enjoy being praised for what I have done. But God teaches a different attitude, one of thankfulness and humility. He pointed that out to me recently. I DO NOT MAKE THESE PHOTOGRAPHS ALONE. I didn't create the light, or the technology which makes photography possible. I didn't buy my camera, it was a gift from my husband. I didn't give myself the ability to see through the camera in order to make an image which others find pleasing. It is right to use what I have been given to the best of my ability, but it is wrong to take credit for what I have not done. God made the light, the elements which are used to manufacture the camera, and the world from which these images come. He has given me gifts: people to teach me, eyes to see with, and a brain to process information. I am thankful for these gifts. He deserves all the praise, not I.

Nice bunch of old leaves, remnant of autumn.
Oh, Dimple. There's no one like you capturing things from daily life, that we usually choose to ignore, but they are there for us to see it like these stairs and debris.
if it were my garden, my wife would b nagging me to clear the debris :)
One always wonders: Where does the stairs go?
Nice patterns and textures.
Poor old leaves -- neglected until Spring. . .
Yes, DUTA is right. You have such a gift for finding the beauty and grace in the ordinary. I love to visit each new post.
Great lines and patterns. This may be simple but it has a strong impact.
The dead leaves on the walk harken back to the warmer autumn. The shadows, step by stp, convey a fine pattern of the anular stems and shadows. Very nice!
Great shot, Dimple! I, too, tend to wonder where stairways lead! And I like the pattern of the bricks! Hope you have a great weekend! Happy Valentine's Day to you!

I like the angle from which you shot this. The ledge reminds me how my children would always have to walk on every one they came upon.
Interesting lines too... in the ledge, steps and bricks.
It seems no matter how many times one clears away the fallen leaves, some return to winter over.
So nice visiting with you and your shadows! ldh
Nice play of light, shadow and textures. Well suited to B&W.
I see leaves in the corner...but no snow! How rare these days. :)
Great find! This is a nice photo and it's very cool in monochrome.
B&W is always a fav.
A very calm shadows.
Have a great V-Day---
Now I'm trying to guess where these steps are! A very good shadow shot. Happy SSS & Valentine's Day.
The steps provide nice sharp shadows contrasted with the softer ones left by the leaves. Nice shadows on the stone wall as well.
Happy shadow seeking this week!
Lovely monochrome capture of shadows (and leaves) ... Happy SSS ;-)
Hugs and blessings,
At least you are lucky not to have snow covering the shadows, nice B&W!
Nice capture of leaves:-)
Leftover from autumn. I like the lines and texture. Neat shadows.
