I Gatepost
I thought I would share my favorite place with you today: my home.
In my last post I used a macro of the plate on the fence/gate post on the right as a puzzle. A closer shot of the post is the first one in this series. It was fun reading everyone's guesses. Most who made a guess got the railroad spike which is holding the square tie plate on this repurposed railroad tie, but Carletta's hubs was the one whose guess came closest. This gate is never closed any more because there are no animals that would wander off. The road is my favorite walk, I have taken many pictures you have seen here along it.
I stood between the gate posts and turned around to snap this shot of our house. The door we use the most is on the left by the parking area and the steps lead to the front porch. You can just see the
rhubarb I showed in an earlier post by the nearest corner, growing behind the edging.
I stood near the rhubarb and turned so you can see the field and tree line. This is a marvelous place for sky shots, but usually I stand near the grass in the foreground so I don't have to crop out a bunch of bare dirt! The big pile is brush which we will probably burn in the fall after the rains come.
This is by the gate again, looking toward the county road through the same break in the trees you saw in the last shot. The trees in the distance are just on the other side of the road.
And this is from the house. You can see the brace for the gate, it's the diagonal line on the extreme right. I am blessed to live in such a beautiful place, and I hope you enjoyed looking around my world.

'My house is my castle' , and now we can say 'my home is my world'. You've got quite a world: peaceful, green, beautiful.
Always enjoy it!
what a great property - so many big, beautiful trees!
I think you live a little more in the country than I do. I know you love it. All the space around you is wonderful isn't it. I don't think I could live in the city ever again. It's nice putting a 'face' on your surroundings.
Hubs was delighted about the guess. He was so sure of what he was telling me he even drew it on a piece of paper. :)
Thanks for sharing your world. Seems a peaceful setting.
What a beautiful home you have! Thanks for sharing it with us. And thanks for reading my blog:)
