Credit Where It is Due

I like to make photographs, and I enjoy being praised for what I have done. But God teaches a different attitude, one of thankfulness and humility. He pointed that out to me recently. I DO NOT MAKE THESE PHOTOGRAPHS ALONE. I didn't create the light, or the technology which makes photography possible. I didn't buy my camera, it was a gift from my husband. I didn't give myself the ability to see through the camera in order to make an image which others find pleasing. It is right to use what I have been given to the best of my ability, but it is wrong to take credit for what I have not done. God made the light, the elements which are used to manufacture the camera, and the world from which these images come. He has given me gifts: people to teach me, eyes to see with, and a brain to process information. I am thankful for these gifts. He deserves all the praise, not I.

Red Leaves Up Close

Here it is Saturday! Where does the time go?
March came in like a lamb where I live, and you know what that means, don't you? Yup! We are still feeling the swish of the lion's tail! It has even been snowing today--I'm glad it won't last long.

This photo is obviously from my archive. I retired in February and haven't been out much with my camera since. Go figure! So for Shadow Shot Sunday, Macro Monday, and Ruby Tuesday I hope you enjoy these autumn leaves. They are pretty, I think! Click on the links to see other great photos from all over!

Delightful shadow shots! And, yes, where does the time go????? Our March came in like a lamb and has gone out like a raging lion right on in to April! Hopefully, he'll go back to sleep soon and let us enjoy a gentle spring! Wishing you a very Happy Easter weekend!

Hi Dimple,
I tried sending you a message but don't think it went through...if it did, ignore this one.
Thanks for your help on creating links...I tried it but didn't succeed because my "copy" mechanism isn't activated. I'll get some technical help when I go north for the summer.
Meanwhile, thanks, my friend. I'm passing the "beautiful blogger award"...check it out on my secondary blog, www.beachsnaps.blogspot.com

The leaves are resplendent in their subtle earth tones all by themselves. Yet the shadows are wonderful representations of the original subject, and so nice!

I use archived photos a lot, so any photo used in a meme is special - no need to create new pictures solely, beauties from the past are perfect too!

Hi Dimple,
Sorry I'm such a stupido. I hope this fixes everything and everyone can see how much I admire you..."beautiful blogger award".

Autumn is one of my favorite times of year and you captured it beautifully with the color of the leaves and the dappled shadows!

I very much appreciate the comment you left on my daffodil macros - thank you.

I love the colours of Autumn :), nice capture. Love those shadows too.

Funny how that happens, isn't it? You retire, suddenly have all the time you need to do the things you want, and nothing gets done! LOL!

It's a lovely photo though, even if you didn't take it yesterday. ;)

Hope this ain't autumn leaves, huh? We starting to get Spring but unfortunately today, it snowed again.

So, no shadows insight. Wonderful post.

Happy Monday.

Beautiful image ... perfect for all three memes. I don't know where the time goes either and this morning I'm realizing I didn't post shadows over the weekend. Such is life.
Hugs and blessings,

Beautiful shot! I love the colours of autumn too, almost as much as spring flowers. But you can keep your snow. I've seen enough for this year. :)
