It was wonderfully sunny today, but this plant was in a shady spot.
I think columbines are wonderful, they are perennial and also
reseed freely. I even have a few in my lawn!

Credit Where It is Due
I like to make photographs, and I enjoy being praised for what I have done. But God teaches a different attitude, one of thankfulness and humility. He pointed that out to me recently. I DO NOT MAKE THESE PHOTOGRAPHS ALONE. I didn't create the light, or the technology which makes photography possible. I didn't buy my camera, it was a gift from my husband. I didn't give myself the ability to see through the camera in order to make an image which others find pleasing. It is right to use what I have been given to the best of my ability, but it is wrong to take credit for what I have not done. God made the light, the elements which are used to manufacture the camera, and the world from which these images come. He has given me gifts: people to teach me, eyes to see with, and a brain to process information. I am thankful for these gifts. He deserves all the praise, not I.

Such a fragile-looking flower. Thanks for the day brightener, Dimple.
isn't it great how they pop up anywhere...and all the new colors they make for themselves?!
love them.
yours are beautiful!
Pretty colors in that columbine. I know what you mean about the sharing of seeds...these plants are very generous.
What a wonderful picture of Columbine, Mine are finished up now, so it is wonderful to see yours still in bloom
Columbines are always so beautiful from closed buds to full fledged open flowers, they are a delight.
I love the color of these! I didn't know until this spring that my Mom had Columbine. She's going to save me seed. :)
Lovely shot!

I even like the name 'Colombine'. I agree with a previous commenter who wrote the flower is 'fragile-looking'. I would also add there's a certain 'humility' about it. And its oolors are a delight.

where i used to look after an eldely lady, she had a columbine and it seemed that no matter what the season was, that plant was always bearing flowers the colour of peaches.
