Credit Where It is Due
I like to make photographs, and I enjoy being praised for what I have done. But God teaches a different attitude, one of thankfulness and humility. He pointed that out to me recently. I DO NOT MAKE THESE PHOTOGRAPHS ALONE. I didn't create the light, or the technology which makes photography possible. I didn't buy my camera, it was a gift from my husband. I didn't give myself the ability to see through the camera in order to make an image which others find pleasing. It is right to use what I have been given to the best of my ability, but it is wrong to take credit for what I have not done. God made the light, the elements which are used to manufacture the camera, and the world from which these images come. He has given me gifts: people to teach me, eyes to see with, and a brain to process information. I am thankful for these gifts. He deserves all the praise, not I.
Ooo ... thank you for all these variations on a theme. I often do this to an image to give my eye a take on what is better when. It most certainly is a study in tranquility. I like it. I like the smallness of the duck.
I like the third photo, with the adjusted contrast. I hope you don't mind me referring you back to the requests for posting to The Weekend in Black and White.
I love it in colour! And when my life gets crazy (as it does frequently lately!), this might be the picture I come back to look at and ground myself. Such a calm and peaceful image!!

This duck is lost in the reflection … I prefer the first one. It's very intersting to see our feeling for the same capture.

Fountain shadow
All the renditions of this photo are lovely, but I think I like the second to the last one best of all.

Well, I like the blue the best. Blue is so serene! It suits the mood of the photo. Great shot. And it's fun to tweak the photos, isn't it?
The sepia effect really suits the image. Add a little aging texture and you've got yourself a beautiful vintage postcard!
