Credit Where It Is Due

Credit Where It is Due

I like to make photographs, and I enjoy being praised for what I have done. But God teaches a different attitude, one of thankfulness and humility. He pointed that out to me recently. I DO NOT MAKE THESE PHOTOGRAPHS ALONE. I didn't create the light, or the technology which makes photography possible. I didn't buy my camera, it was a gift from my husband. I didn't give myself the ability to see through the camera in order to make an image which others find pleasing. It is right to use what I have been given to the best of my ability, but it is wrong to take credit for what I have not done. God made the light, the elements which are used to manufacture the camera, and the world from which these images come. He has given me gifts: people to teach me, eyes to see with, and a brain to process information. I am thankful for these gifts. He deserves all the praise, not I.

Come for a Walk with Me...

It's a beautiful day! I have some time, let's go for a walk!

The light is wonderful for photography; what neat shadows on this wall!
These maple leaves are not finished turning yet, the veins show up  well against the green.
Probably this lawn has been raked once or twice. The bench is for my friend Paulie; simple and functional.
On the other side of the same house, look! The gate is open! Isn't it a delightful shade of red?
I just love yellow leaves against a blue sky, don't you? Both colors are more lovely then.
Golden glow;
sunshine through yellow leaves!
The willow is just starting to get ready for winter, but this boat has only to be moved off the street for its nap.
A neighborhood kitty watching me watching (and photographing) her!
It's tempting to try to pet her, but let's not disturb her from her observation post.
Another open gate! Some people must have been in a hurry this morning!
I think these are tiny apples, but I'm not sure. I love the fall colors, though!
I would like to scuff through the leaves in this alley...but, no, not this time...!
This is an old tree, may it live many more years!

One more shot, and then I have to go inside.
 Thanks for coming with me!

Fall is definitely in "bloom" there! Thanks for the bench photo -- lots of room to rest and watch passerbys on it! My favorite photo was the bunch of leaves. I would have taken the time to scuffle thru them! Ü

Did I tell you I now have a camera again?

What a lovely walk, Dimple. I wasn't up to much this morning, but stood outside the house and took some pictures of the sky. Interesting clouds. Glad I could go for a walk with you.
Your pictures are delightful. It must be a friendly neighborhood, with those open gates and a cat standing watch!

I so enjoyed the walk with you through your neighborhood. Lovely shots of the Fall foliage, gates and more. Then there was the surprise of seeing the cat resting in the shadows. I had a similar surprise when shooting the trees in my back yard. I hope you'll stop by and check out the fall light this time of the year in Texas.

What a lovely idea to take us along for your morning walk. And what inviting streets and lanes you have near you.
I have taken the liberty to transfer the link you sent me into the relevant post. So interesting. Thank you.

Thank you for taking us on your walk with you. I don't think I've seen your tiny apples before. I like your perspective of the old tree.

Yours is a pleasant neighborhood indeed! The foliage still stand, so shadows on siding and walk exists, starting with the long autumnal sky. The rubies in fruit and leaf are wonderful!
