Credit Where It Is Due

Credit Where It is Due

I like to make photographs, and I enjoy being praised for what I have done. But God teaches a different attitude, one of thankfulness and humility. He pointed that out to me recently. I DO NOT MAKE THESE PHOTOGRAPHS ALONE. I didn't create the light, or the technology which makes photography possible. I didn't buy my camera, it was a gift from my husband. I didn't give myself the ability to see through the camera in order to make an image which others find pleasing. It is right to use what I have been given to the best of my ability, but it is wrong to take credit for what I have not done. God made the light, the elements which are used to manufacture the camera, and the world from which these images come. He has given me gifts: people to teach me, eyes to see with, and a brain to process information. I am thankful for these gifts. He deserves all the praise, not I.

Don't Fence Me In!

I think that indignity can be avoided with this barbed wire, anyhow!

Isn't it amazing that something as common as barbed wire can leave such a lovely shadow? Love the old wood as a background, too! Hope your weekend is going well! Enjoy!

The barbs seem to convince the cattle that the grass IS NOT greener on the other side of the fence...

Dimple -

I admire your photography skills and ability to find beauty in unexpected things -- the old worn wooden wall acting as a canvas for the barbed wire shadow. It looks like an autumn wreath!

Hi there!
Thanks for stopping by and leaving such a lovely comment...makes me want to write a little more. Mostly, I just write like a journalist but taking an emotional leap is a whole lot of work!

Meanwhile, I love your shadow play...isn't it just so much fun walking around looking at reflections and shadows...a different perspective from the average looker at things!

Awesome photo! Old weathered wood and wire make a perfect combination I think! I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend :)

I like the shadow shot a lot. I especially like the detail of that barn wood in the background. In some cases, the place where the shadow "sets" is important to the shadow itself. I find this the case here.

Peace.

Ouch! Barb wire made me instantly recall the scary and uncertain days earlier this year, when the City of Angels was held hostage by a sea of red shirts and the violence that ensued...

It really amazes me that all of us can see the simple thing that we never cared b4, right?

Barbed wire? Hmmm...didn't think of it, that it can give us a grea shadow.

You rocks, Lady...Job well done.

Happy SSS...

That's a photograph that I for one would frame.

I just noticed a new barbed wire fence Sunday. I remember days of helping Daddy "run fence lines," and repair fences.

Nice shot
