Credit Where It Is Due

Credit Where It is Due

I like to make photographs, and I enjoy being praised for what I have done. But God teaches a different attitude, one of thankfulness and humility. He pointed that out to me recently. I DO NOT MAKE THESE PHOTOGRAPHS ALONE. I didn't create the light, or the technology which makes photography possible. I didn't buy my camera, it was a gift from my husband. I didn't give myself the ability to see through the camera in order to make an image which others find pleasing. It is right to use what I have been given to the best of my ability, but it is wrong to take credit for what I have not done. God made the light, the elements which are used to manufacture the camera, and the world from which these images come. He has given me gifts: people to teach me, eyes to see with, and a brain to process information. I am thankful for these gifts. He deserves all the praise, not I.

Remembering Autumn

When I have been walking this winter,
 I have occasionally noticed some remnant of autumn.
The earliest of these was taken last November;
the most recent this month.

Leaves that are coloured in the Autumn range are really beautiful and you have captured them well.

Beautiful photos, Dimple. I love the bright red berries - just enough of them to provide contrast. Yes, it would make a lovely card.

I like this leaf collection of yours! I actually always associate you with leaves because of your masthead I guess. Glad to hear you're getting some sun. I've been keeping an eye on the weather from down here. I'm hoping Spring waits for me this year! Last year the deer had eaten all my tulips to the ground by the time we got there. Have a good week.

Thanks for your visit to my blog and for the kind comments. I love this mosaic. How did you do it if I might ask? I use Picnik, but feel sure there are other programs out there. Yours does not appear to be one of theirs. I agree with you that bits and pieces of Autumn remain in the leaves in spite of the cold of winter. Beautiful post.

Thanks so much for answering my question. Now I am really in a mess. I use a MacBook Pro and somehow my Photoshop is messed up. My desktop shows up on my image workspace. cannot figure out what is going on. Am so frustrated. Ahhh, such is life.

A beautiful collage Dimple. The first and last leaves look translucent in their frozen state.

Autumn colours are unbeatable. No wonder there are so many lyrics and songs on this topic (The Falling leaves, Try to remember the days of September...).
I agree with those commenters that see your mosaic as a lovely Card.

Given the snow these days, Autumn feels much warmer than now! The leaves have subtle rubies and other pastels that feel and look so warm, so comforting. Nice!

Part of the reason that I love autumn so much is that you can find its remnants all year round. Gorgeous pictures :-)!

Beautiful reminders and I like the snow too. I never really cared much about seasons when I was in California because there wasn't much difference between them but now I love autumn best then winter and spring. Summer not so much. :)
