Credit Where It is Due
I like to make photographs, and I enjoy being praised for what I have done. But God teaches a different attitude, one of thankfulness and humility. He pointed that out to me recently. I DO NOT MAKE THESE PHOTOGRAPHS ALONE. I didn't create the light, or the technology which makes photography possible. I didn't buy my camera, it was a gift from my husband. I didn't give myself the ability to see through the camera in order to make an image which others find pleasing. It is right to use what I have been given to the best of my ability, but it is wrong to take credit for what I have not done. God made the light, the elements which are used to manufacture the camera, and the world from which these images come. He has given me gifts: people to teach me, eyes to see with, and a brain to process information. I am thankful for these gifts. He deserves all the praise, not I.

Ghost appears to be a true (and perhaps wise) friend.
I HAD A LITTLE SHADOW
(With apologies to Robert Louis Stevenson)
I had a little shadow
No bigger than my thumb;
I took him to the meadow
And there I gave him rum.
My drunken little shadow
Did weave and bob and pitch;
He stumbled from the meadow
And fell into a ditch!

Ghost has chosen his family and home very well! The events that transpired before are probably tough. Yet, as one who doesn't believe in coincidence, he was to be with your family! His purrs are genuine, and he is so happy!
Oh, I'm glad he adopted you, too. Isn't he a beauty? And a companion cat is wonderful. I've had several cats, but only one who ever wanted to go for walks with me. I still miss him.

Beautiful cat and I'm glad he found you!! And he makes for great shadow shots for the day as well! Hope both of you have a great weekend!!

Ghost is an absolute beauty!
What a great looking cat. Apparently he has a great personality as well. Every now and then, I see a cat that will walk with its person, but it's highly unusual.
I too am so glad he found you
he's magnificent
and so are you
What a nice story ! And Ghost is so beautiful ! Great pictures, I esp. love the first one...the colors are amazing :-)
I really do appreciate the people that can talk to the animals. thanks for sharing that bit about yourself. Ghostie looks like a fine pal to have around.
It's funny, as I sat here just now reading and commenting, our cat, Mr. Bitters, sat nearby and meowed at me, the signal to "Please get up and open the door so I can go out."
Peace
I am glad Ghjost found a good home, thanks for rescuing him. Wonderful photos and a beautiful cat.
this is a beautiful story of who Ghost is. I had a cat that did the very same thing. I had a 20-acre farm and hiked the land a lot. Hawk would go with me every single time, just like a dog. And he too would yowl loudly if he fell behind. then I'd wait and soon I could see his sandy colored head bobbing along the path. it was adorable. you're blessed to have this beautiful, loyal friend. I love your photos of him. thanks for sharing. you've helped me recall some very fond memories. have a great week Dimple.
Beautiful shadow shot. I like the name Ghost!
My Shadow Shots
I feel that abandoning felines can so often be a cat-astrophe.
Ghost looks adorable and your photos really do him justice.
Have a good week, Boonie
What a beautiful kitty and story. So great that he wants to keep you company on your walks...I take it he's an outdoor cat so he's happy when you come out for a spin and keep HIM company.
And thanks for the heads-up on Northanger Abbey...I'm going to find a copy.
I came here to say "Thank you!" for following my blog. And fell in love with yours from the first sight when I saw Ghost. Great blog. And thank you!
Such a beautiful shadow shot, he is gorgeous and how lucky you are that he adopted you as his new family.
Oh, I am so glad to hear the happy ending! Ghost Kitty is absolutely VERY HANDSOME!!! So sweet.

My link above, if you care to pay me a visit. Have a great Sunday!!
I am so glad Ghostie found you. He look very much like a kittle my Mother bought and named Misty. It was a particular breed somehow and the clor was consider blue even though it looks steel gray.
since I am a dog person, catlore is not in me but I abhore abandonment and mistreatment of all creatures, especially pets who have little defense.
Great he has a good home with you.
Love it that he goes on walks with you!
A gorgeous looking cat, aptly named!
Sounds like you have both found a good friend and walking companion.
He looks so wild and wooley in that top shot!!
Good for you for welcoming him into your life. We've taken in a number of abandoned dogs. In fact, all six we currently have "found us".
nice shots!
Lucky you, lucky kitty! Glad your paths crossed. Cute pics of him too. Our Botanical Gardens in Wichita are lovely--we are in the process of adding on a Children's Garden which is going to be spectacular. Have a great week. Mickie :)
That first shot s great, I love the color of his fur. He looks fiercely independent, like "I'm bad!". I'm glad he found you; you are a good person for taking him in and caring for him.
What a cool cat! My friend's cat always walks with me and one of his roommates and I thought it was strange but I guess it is normal :)
Love that first shot - his expression is perfect!
Happy Macro Monday
I bet he is glad he found you too.
Sometimes I think these (abandoned) make the best pets. We rescued our Sophie from our local shelter.
Hiya,
Handsome brute, isn't he.
Like the idea of taking a cat for a walk.
Awe........ Glad that you have adopted Ghost. He is a beauty and I don't know how people can abandon pets.
Theres always a chance that he may have got into the back of a lorry or other vehicle though right away from his area.
I had a grey shorthaired cat called Misty that I absolutely adored. She was my favourite & lived to 14.

I bet Ghost's humans were at the Lake for a vacation and he escaped and they couldn't find him. Luckily he adopted you to join you in your walks.
Your Leafman is similar to Forest Face...which, btw, is actually his name!! Now I have to look up this Ent a few of you have referred to!!
xx-cassie
Ghost looks very like the large Norwegian Forest Cat who adopted my mum. Apparently they like to be only cats, and her previous owner got two at the same time. Big cat. Loves walking and climbing trees... when not sleeping... Ghost is beautiful. Lovely photos...
Beautiful cat! This is the first cat I've seen that looks like my Shady. My son named him Slim Shady. He's all gray, except for white feet and a white bib. He looks like he's wearing a tuxedo. Shady has long hair, too, and he is also a huge cat like Ghost. Your Ghost is truly a handsome cat!
I like the name. And I like animals to go with me when I walk around just a great feeling. Now I am missed my pet chicken Ester, who was massacred by our neighbors dog ^_^
Magnolia Buds
He's a beautiful Kitty -- but he needs a bell so he won't catch any more birds ;>)
Thank you for this moving story of you and Ghost. Your relationship with Ghost
has brought smiles on me. Have a nice week with him.
What a beautiful cat and a beautiful story behind him. We have two cats at home now and both are adopted by us. It's so heartbreaking to see a cat like Ghost...
Thanks for sharing and leaving a sweet words on my blog.
Have a wonderful day,
Yoshi
Oh what a sweet cat!! =) And such a sad story ending nice, I'm so glad that he adopted you and that you are so kind and take care of him!! :) He must be happy to have adopted you, I'm quite sure!
How could anybody abandone a cat like this??! I can never understand why some people ever want a cat for after to not care..
Thanks for your kindness, taking care of that beauty! :)
