Credit Where It Is Due

Credit Where It is Due

I like to make photographs, and I enjoy being praised for what I have done. But God teaches a different attitude, one of thankfulness and humility. He pointed that out to me recently. I DO NOT MAKE THESE PHOTOGRAPHS ALONE. I didn't create the light, or the technology which makes photography possible. I didn't buy my camera, it was a gift from my husband. I didn't give myself the ability to see through the camera in order to make an image which others find pleasing. It is right to use what I have been given to the best of my ability, but it is wrong to take credit for what I have not done. God made the light, the elements which are used to manufacture the camera, and the world from which these images come. He has given me gifts: people to teach me, eyes to see with, and a brain to process information. I am thankful for these gifts. He deserves all the praise, not I.

Scenes of Spring

Spring is full of hope.
New leaves grow, turning sunward,
Promise fruit to come.

Pansies smile at the sun.

Please stop over to each of these great memes to see what others have contributed!

Sometimes that promised fruit seems agonizingly slow in coming, doesn't it? :-)

The smallest sprouts aim toward the sun, like human hands aiming heavenward. Yellow seems to be the perfect color for Spring. we feel energized in that hue. Nicely done, it looks and feels warmer already!

Here's one to salute your shadows:

WONDERFUL NONSENSE

A shadow’s a wonderful thing;
O listen! Can you hear it sing?
It tells of a time
Before there was crime—
Trust that and you’ll trust anything!

Oh, Dimple, that yellow is so warming the heart!
Spring is indeed the season of Hope and Promise, and it never fails us ,even though it is sometimes slow in delivering its 'goodies'.

Lovely spring images, Dimple... 'tis a pity spring was so short here, but it WAS glorious! And here I got another peak...

Both beautiful shots. I love that first one, I can see the new growth moving. Things got green and leaves appeared literally overnight here in Northern Wisconsin, (that also happened to the grass and we had to mow between the raindrops)
Good stuff!

I do love looking at others flowers. Due to our age we ae converting our beds to shrubs which require less upkeep and wear and tear on our old bodies.

Hi Dimple. Russian dancer indeed! I love your imagination.

I prefer the second shot in this series. High contrast digital color is a bear isn't it. Too easy to blow out the highlights.

The forms in your second shot are neat. Bet that one would work OK in B&W.

Looks like you are about where we are in the spring leaf-thing.

Of course our cold weekend with 2-1/2 inches of snow didn't help matters any............

Beautiful today, though!

Dimple -- those are lovely spring pictures. I like the angle of the pansies turned to the sun -- reminds me of gardening in Oregon (back when we used to live there)....
