Credit Where It Is Due
Credit Where It is Due
I like to make photographs, and I enjoy being praised for what I have done. But God teaches a different attitude, one of thankfulness and humility. He pointed that out to me recently. I DO NOT MAKE THESE PHOTOGRAPHS ALONE. I didn't create the light, or the technology which makes photography possible. I didn't buy my camera, it was a gift from my husband. I didn't give myself the ability to see through the camera in order to make an image which others find pleasing. It is right to use what I have been given to the best of my ability, but it is wrong to take credit for what I have not done. God made the light, the elements which are used to manufacture the camera, and the world from which these images come. He has given me gifts: people to teach me, eyes to see with, and a brain to process information. I am thankful for these gifts. He deserves all the praise, not I.

Uncropped, definitely. It's a nice photo when it's cropped, it's a beautiful picture with the whole window and the lace curtain.

BUT, you are using the talents God gave you to capture His handiwork!
I like the cropped photo better-- it seems like a painting. . .
Nice contrasts.
Oh, and I like the uncropped better. I think the lace adds a nice effect.
oh, I think cropped. it's a wonderful photo Dimple. I love the black and white. happy day to you!
wonderful ! providing many memories of a light I saw while returning home. love the first pictures most.
please have a good friday.

I like it better with the lovely curtains showing up at the top. Very nice both ways though. I love how opinions are so divided--isn't it great we all see things so differently. Have a lovely weekend. Mickie :)
Both are good, but I like the first one best. I'm with Mickie, I like the curtains!
The uncropped version is framed all around, partly with the curtains on top that others have noted. There is often also more drama to portrait orientation for some reason. I also like the 2/3 ratio better. When I crop I often try to come close to that ratio.
Uncropped. I liked the taller, more vertical story.
These are awesome Dimple! Great composition. I love the detail in the white tones, it really pulls it all together
Beautiful composition!
Getaway Place
Excellent shot! I love the composition and the un cropped version is my favorite!
Uncropped! So much to see - wonderful patterns everywhere, and every variation of white and black.
I'm like you, Dimple. I am drawn to windows and the thought that there are always two photos inside of one...the window itself and what's beyond. Nice work.

Color Dimple? Nah. These are excellent in B&W. Which one? The first one is my pick. The cropped image puts too much emphasis on the hanging lamp. Well Done!!!!
I typically would prefer the cropped version in its simple geometric shapes...but I really love the light and shadow of the curtain in the first photo...hmmm. Ok. Both:-)
Wow Dimple, discovering your pictures is always such a pleasure... You master well Black and white, here.
I don't know. Both are superb!
Have a great weekend:)
Terrific captures for the day, Dimple, and I like the uncropped one with the lace curtains! I do love windows and all the things you can do with them! Hope you have a great weekend!

I like the uncropped. Windows seem to capture my attention, subconciously. I guess I'm always wondering what's on the other side. With reflections, they offer much more than first meets the eye. I agree that black and white serves this image well. Nicely captured.
Wonderful shot, perfect in b/w, and I prefer the top version with the bit of lace. A bold photo, great composition.

Beatyful in B/W...;D
Excellent black and white photographs.
Regards and best wishes
I like the cropped
your composition is flawless
Uncropped. Excellent capture!
The top composition is my favourite. Just lovely!
Very lovely photo. I prefer the uncropped as it evokes a very comfortable feel and emotion.
I like the cropped version in b&w best. It's a very eye catching image.
Black and white, uncropped (I am unqualified to comment on which is the better from a real photographer's standpoint, but I just can't get enough of those curtains!)
Very good! I like it very much!
Yep, give credit where credit is due and God blessed you with much talent girl.
I like the cropped picture best but they are bot amazin' sweetie.
God bless ya and have a most beautiful day!!! :o)
The tiny lace curtain adds much delicacy to the window. Beautiful capture!
The uncropped version is beautiful. The perspective is dramatic - with the white lace curtains, and the lamp not taking up the whole space.
This is such a lovely photograph!
Is it your window?
Love

Very pretty in black and white!
I like it cropped.
Hope you are having a good week.
Beuatiful..I like the uncropped picture ;-)
Boy, I just don't know.....
I like the lace in the uncropped photo, but there is just something about the cropped one.....
Don't ever ask me to make a decision about ANYTHING!!!!
I like the uncropped version myself, and it's beautiful in B&W. Thanks for stopping by my blog! Cheers!
