It was cold this morning, and clear. I had to get going fairly early, but when I went out to start the car, I ran back in for my camera.

The moon is small, but the light powerful in this view. The look of the moon sits higher than the tall evergreens of the Gem State. Below, the pine boughs perfectly frame the lunar orb above. Such lovely skies in the Northwest, so heavenly, so wide. Stunning!

I love the moon in the morning! I really like the way you framed it in the 2nd shot.
You and I did exactly the same thing! Amazing how similar our shots are! Fun to catch them like that, isn't it? Yours really are lovely and you did get a better view of the moon than I did.

I'm glad you had gotten ready in time to go back in for your camera. There are mornings I wish I had mine, but I don't leave time to come back in in the mornings. I have taken some with my iphone camera, but there is no zoom on it.
