Credit Where It Is Due

Credit Where It is Due

I like to make photographs, and I enjoy being praised for what I have done. But God teaches a different attitude, one of thankfulness and humility. He pointed that out to me recently. I DO NOT MAKE THESE PHOTOGRAPHS ALONE. I didn't create the light, or the technology which makes photography possible. I didn't buy my camera, it was a gift from my husband. I didn't give myself the ability to see through the camera in order to make an image which others find pleasing. It is right to use what I have been given to the best of my ability, but it is wrong to take credit for what I have not done. God made the light, the elements which are used to manufacture the camera, and the world from which these images come. He has given me gifts: people to teach me, eyes to see with, and a brain to process information. I am thankful for these gifts. He deserves all the praise, not I.

I absolutely adore laundry on the line. It's one of the only things this Undomestic Goddess gets an actual thrill from.

Very interesting! Here in NC the air is so humid it is hard to dry clothes outside - it takes forever. It is hot this days though. Very neat line!

How exciting, a new blog! Have fun with it!
Welcome to Summer Stock. Glad to see you using the free sunshine. Here in Jerusalem I don't even own a dryer, no need.
What's on the table? Do you cook outside too??

It sounds weird, but chocolate tea I might try it.

Shalom shalom.

I love the smell of sheets dried in fresh air and sunshine. Nice photo.

Laundry on the line - I don't see that in New Jersey! Definitely a great summer scene - the linens will be crisp.

We generally have too much rain ... but no better smell than that of laundry that managed to dry outside :)

Dina-That's a camp stove on the table, I had used it to can some maraschino cherries the day I took the pic. We cook on our propane grill a lot in the summer.

The pin bag always hung on my Mom's line come rain or shine. I use to love the way our sheets would smell even if they were a bit rough on the skin in the summer months. I also remember the sheets freezing on the lines on a cold winter day:) Thanks for the memories from your wonderful photo.

Part of summer is being able to hang your washing out....
Only problem is towels dry toooooo much and go hard...lol

It brings back a lot of memories to see clothes on the line. That what we did ever since I can remember. We used #9 clothes line wire. Heavy stuff. Lasted a lifetime.

Reminds me of growing up, back in the days when we all hung their laundry out to dry)...there is something wonderful about the sight of laundry on the line.

Here in Israel we're able to dry our clothes on the line all year round. Not socks though, I loathe hanging out all those individual socks. Those I put in the dryer LOL.

Welcome to Summer Stock, this was a great first post :). To add the badge, just right click on it to save it to your computer and then add it in as an image. (Some people make them "clickable" but I'm not that computer-savvy.)

This so takes me back to the days I'd help my Grandma when I stayed with her. Monday was laundry day.
Do you take them down and sprinkle them before ironing? :)

I take them down, fold them up, and put them away! I remember my mother sprinkling clothes before ironing them. Sometimes she would wrap them up & put them in the fridge until she had time to actually iron. I don't iron very often, except when I'm sewing.

This takes me back to my teens when I got to hang and iron the laundry my Mother managed to wash. As the oldest of 13 that was no small accomplishment.

Nice shot.

Thanks for the visit to my site.

I love laundry, it's a bit of a pity we don't get to see it much anymore. This brings back wonderful childhood memories.

One of the great things about summer, you can wash your bedding and clothers and put them away on the same day. :-)
