Credit Where It is Due
I like to make photographs, and I enjoy being praised for what I have done. But God teaches a different attitude, one of thankfulness and humility. He pointed that out to me recently. I DO NOT MAKE THESE PHOTOGRAPHS ALONE. I didn't create the light, or the technology which makes photography possible. I didn't buy my camera, it was a gift from my husband. I didn't give myself the ability to see through the camera in order to make an image which others find pleasing. It is right to use what I have been given to the best of my ability, but it is wrong to take credit for what I have not done. God made the light, the elements which are used to manufacture the camera, and the world from which these images come. He has given me gifts: people to teach me, eyes to see with, and a brain to process information. I am thankful for these gifts. He deserves all the praise, not I.

My mother always had one of these plants and I never saw it bloom and I don't think she did either. It was old when I last saw it.

I hope you smelled it, it has a deicious perfume, somewhat like a hyacinth.
Sansevieria is a childhood memory for me. Somehow, when I was a kid EVERYBODY seemed to have these. I thought they were boring ugly plants, they were the only kind of plants that could survive government offices and school buildings. But I don't think I've ever seen them bloom? The flower is not boring at all!

Wow!! I have seen the leaves for years, but never stopped to wonder whether the plant ever flowered! Of course it couldn't in so many of the environments where it was kept. But this flower is simply stunning!!! So glad you have kept your plant happy enough that it had to reward you! And surprise us!!
The name of this post caught my attention. hehe. I was glad to see that Arija says it has a delicious smell...my mother in law is a total sweetheart so I think of her as a fragrant blossom, living for the Lord!
