Credit Where It Is Due

Credit Where It is Due

I like to make photographs, and I enjoy being praised for what I have done. But God teaches a different attitude, one of thankfulness and humility. He pointed that out to me recently. I DO NOT MAKE THESE PHOTOGRAPHS ALONE. I didn't create the light, or the technology which makes photography possible. I didn't buy my camera, it was a gift from my husband. I didn't give myself the ability to see through the camera in order to make an image which others find pleasing. It is right to use what I have been given to the best of my ability, but it is wrong to take credit for what I have not done. God made the light, the elements which are used to manufacture the camera, and the world from which these images come. He has given me gifts: people to teach me, eyes to see with, and a brain to process information. I am thankful for these gifts. He deserves all the praise, not I.

A Note to My Friends

I want to let you know that I will be away from my blog for a short time. We have had a loss in the family, and I am busy with final things. It was neither an unexpected nor an untimely death, and although that reduces the emotional toll, it does not reduce the time which must be spent. I will return!

Capturing the Wild Balloon

In my last post I showed you a wild balloon which surprised me while I was walking last week. Today I want to share more of that experience...

Approach carefully so as not to scare it!

It's caught! The ribbon is tangled in the brush...

Please help!

Curious Ginger

What is this thing?

Who cares?!

If you are wondering, I untangled the ribbon and brought the balloon home. It is now tame, and living in my house!

Balloon in the Wild

Ginger, Ghost and I were out walking last week.
I turned up a rather steep route, something I do for variety now and then.
About half way up, an odd movement on the edge of my vision startled me.
I was a little scared, I admit!
But it was pink, and floating a little.
Not too scary...

I have never found a balloon on one of my walks before!
Tune in next time for more adventure!

Mountain Views

When I was growing up we lived in a city in central California, about equally far from the Sierra Nevada Mountains and the Pacific Ocean. It was a good balance; we enjoyed visiting both.
I attended college near the ocean. I like the sea.

But I love the mountains.

Thanks!

The other day Patricia honored me with the Versatile Blogger award. Thanks, Patricia!

The rules for this award say I'm supposed to tell you seven things about myself. This kind of thing always trips me up (there, that's one thing!).
2. I love Jesus. You may already know that!
3. I recently crocheted a pair of toeless socks to wear with my flip flops.
4. One sock is pink with blue, the other is blue with pink.
5. I hate cold feet!
6. I love to create.
7. I like to be silly sometimes!

That's one hard part done! Now the other...I'm also supposed to pass it on to 15 other bloggers!

There are many blogs which I enjoy, and choosing among them is not so easy. But here goes, in alphabetical order:

1. 2 kids, 2 dogs, 2 cars, 2 tired
2. Amish Stories
