Credit Where It Is Due

Credit Where It is Due

I like to make photographs, and I enjoy being praised for what I have done. But God teaches a different attitude, one of thankfulness and humility. He pointed that out to me recently. I DO NOT MAKE THESE PHOTOGRAPHS ALONE. I didn't create the light, or the technology which makes photography possible. I didn't buy my camera, it was a gift from my husband. I didn't give myself the ability to see through the camera in order to make an image which others find pleasing. It is right to use what I have been given to the best of my ability, but it is wrong to take credit for what I have not done. God made the light, the elements which are used to manufacture the camera, and the world from which these images come. He has given me gifts: people to teach me, eyes to see with, and a brain to process information. I am thankful for these gifts. He deserves all the praise, not I.

Thanks!

The other day Patricia honored me with the Versatile Blogger award. Thanks, Patricia!

The rules for this award say I'm supposed to tell you seven things about myself. This kind of thing always trips me up (there, that's one thing!).
2. I love Jesus. You may already know that!
3. I recently crocheted a pair of toeless socks to wear with my flip flops.
4. One sock is pink with blue, the other is blue with pink.
5. I hate cold feet!
6. I love to create.
7. I like to be silly sometimes!

That's one hard part done! Now the other...I'm also supposed to pass it on to 15 other bloggers!

There are many blogs which I enjoy, and choosing among them is not so easy. But here goes, in alphabetical order:

1. 2 kids, 2 dogs, 2 cars, 2 tired
2. Amish Stories
3. An Unfittie's Guide to Adventurous Travel
4. Buttons Thoughts
5. Crown of Beauty
6. daybyday
7. Houston in Black & White
8. Into My Own
9. Irina's Paintings and Stuff
10. Nuts in May
11. Places With Character
12. Robert N. point-pen
13. Stardust English Talk
14. The Fragile X Files
15. welsh hills again

Oh, my goodness, I was hoping I wouldn't be on the list. Well, it's been interesting to read about you, and to see your very cute toeless socks (my toes are always cold) and thank you so much for thinking of me as versatile. Hmm.
I'm going to try to incorporate the 7 things for the award with the writing challenge recently issued by the writers' group Imaginary Garden with Real Toads, in which we're challenged to look up the meanings of our names and write a poem about ourselves using that meaning.

Dear "Dimple",
Congratulations for the award you received, you truly deserve it. Apart from the photos you post, I do not know much about you. So to read those seven things about yourself is very helpful! I have no doubt that there is a lovely woman behind those inspiring shots!

what an honor to be chosen as one of the recipients of this award.

I appreciate your kindness. To God alone be the glory for how my blog blesses and inspires others to draw closer to Him!

No problem about the awards...I take no offense about not being included...for whatever reason...those are difficult decisions to make. For a couple years now you have been one of my most FAITHFUL commenting and treasured blog friends. I will always love you, Dimple.
We are FOREVER friends.

Thanks so much! It's been a long while since I've won an award. I don't really deserve it lately--I've hardly blogged at all! I'm going to try to do better from now on.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
