This is called a skidder, it is designed to drag logs from the forest to a place where they can be loaded on a truck. As you can see, it has very large tires (one photo has an auto tire for comparison, and another has a furry model) and a blade for pushing brush into piles or fires. There is a powerful winch with a long cable for retrieving logs from difficult locations.
My husband uses this machine a lot, and it is a regular part of my world.
