Credit Where It Is Due

Credit Where It is Due

I like to make photographs, and I enjoy being praised for what I have done. But God teaches a different attitude, one of thankfulness and humility. He pointed that out to me recently. I DO NOT MAKE THESE PHOTOGRAPHS ALONE. I didn't create the light, or the technology which makes photography possible. I didn't buy my camera, it was a gift from my husband. I didn't give myself the ability to see through the camera in order to make an image which others find pleasing. It is right to use what I have been given to the best of my ability, but it is wrong to take credit for what I have not done. God made the light, the elements which are used to manufacture the camera, and the world from which these images come. He has given me gifts: people to teach me, eyes to see with, and a brain to process information. I am thankful for these gifts. He deserves all the praise, not I.

Mystery Bench

This bench is in an unusual place; I don't think anyone would want to sit on it!

Interesting...nice iron work, but one of the slats on the back is missing...definitely not a bus stop or taxi stand-it's facing the wrong way...I wonder what's going on?

Oh, I see! It's a signboard! I hope the artist had lots of visitors!

To see more benches, visit Visual Norway. The link is in the sidebar.

I like this seat it has interesting iron work and I thought a yellow towel on the back, but instead its a sign! Poor old bench to be used to just hold up a sign.

The ironwork is beautiful and I do hope they repair the one slat so it is a functional bench for sitting on again. You presented it great! Thanks for dropping by.

FYI -- My bench is more like a couch than a day bed because it is not high.

I call that almost a misuse of a bench :-) The artist in question has lost all credibility with this sign.Someone ought to sneak by in the night and do something about it.

It gave life to a nice series, though.

Yes indeed! Such a bench makes you thinking! May be its a work of art!!

I'm thinking the artist thought of a clever way to get attention. It worked too! After all you took the bench's photo and we're all talking about it and the sign. ;-)

Hi everyone-
I saw other, similar signs around town after I took these pictures, but none of them was displayed quite so interestingly. The pictures are from early last month; just the other day as I was driving by the studio again, I saw this same bench, still missing the slat, in a more bench-like position in front of the building.

Even with a missing slat , passers by could rest on it for a while.
The bench adds both beauty and functionality to the place.

Dimple, I'm finally getting caught up with comments. Please, if you can come back to http://jerusalemhillsdailyphoto.blogspot.com/2009/09/sunup.html
there is an answer to your good question about the terraces.
