Credit Where It is Due
I like to make photographs, and I enjoy being praised for what I have done. But God teaches a different attitude, one of thankfulness and humility. He pointed that out to me recently. I DO NOT MAKE THESE PHOTOGRAPHS ALONE. I didn't create the light, or the technology which makes photography possible. I didn't buy my camera, it was a gift from my husband. I didn't give myself the ability to see through the camera in order to make an image which others find pleasing. It is right to use what I have been given to the best of my ability, but it is wrong to take credit for what I have not done. God made the light, the elements which are used to manufacture the camera, and the world from which these images come. He has given me gifts: people to teach me, eyes to see with, and a brain to process information. I am thankful for these gifts. He deserves all the praise, not I.
Great shadow shot, Dimple! I understand longing for some more sun! We have some now and it's wonderful, but how long will it last??? Who knows! Anyway, I've been running around getting all the shots I can while it's here!! Hope your weekend is going well! Enjoy!
The view in the Autumn is great, the sun more above us, stronger and of course, warmer. The house is the perfect canvas for this shadowy art. Combined with the water views, the look of the Gem State is wonderful!
Soon, very soon you'll have spring too!
Happy SS Sunday from Cairo!
Dimple, you're a master of shadows and reflections.
Afternoons, I think, are the best time for taking pictures of this kind, especially that the sun is up there to help.
Very nice! I really like the colours in this!
Lovely shadow shot!
Gorgeous play of shadow and light! And love the touch of water nearby!
Shadows help us see the entire composition more closely. Lovely.
Wonderful and warm colors. Even it was November, looks very warm:)
Good catch -- shadows are always interesting!

Such a beautiful Fall shadow shot. I miss that wonderful, cool place!
Beautiful shadows from your archives. Hope you get the real thing soon.
Hugs and blessings,
Oh, I love these shots with the strong shadows! I also enjoyed your post on making firewood. This is the first year we ran out of wood for our stove insert and it has been a cold, snowy season. We wear jackets in the house now instead of enjoying the cozy and warm fireplace :(
We won't let it happen again next year!
Nice stopping by to visit with you!
A lovely depiction!
dear dimple..white birch are my most favourite trees.
we have one in our front lawn and i dread the day that a heavy wind will fell it.
it is bound to happen though because it is on the old side.
