Credit Where It Is Due

Credit Where It is Due

I like to make photographs, and I enjoy being praised for what I have done. But God teaches a different attitude, one of thankfulness and humility. He pointed that out to me recently. I DO NOT MAKE THESE PHOTOGRAPHS ALONE. I didn't create the light, or the technology which makes photography possible. I didn't buy my camera, it was a gift from my husband. I didn't give myself the ability to see through the camera in order to make an image which others find pleasing. It is right to use what I have been given to the best of my ability, but it is wrong to take credit for what I have not done. God made the light, the elements which are used to manufacture the camera, and the world from which these images come. He has given me gifts: people to teach me, eyes to see with, and a brain to process information. I am thankful for these gifts. He deserves all the praise, not I.

Gorgeous, especially with the clouds reflected. Lilacs are one of my favorites. More treasured, perhaps, because they show themselves for a such a short time.
Have a great weekend :)

I can almost smell the beautiful white lilacs. Lovely reflection. I don't think they grow in Florida and, in fact, we hardly ever see lilacs lately because we are usually still traveling. But we had bushes of them when we lived in Oregon. thanks for sharing.

The shape of the clouds in the reflection almost mimics the lilacs themselves. Both appearing billowy and fluffy as well!

Wow, I can barely manage one meme at a time; you saw all of these together! Our lilacs are done flowering now so it was nice to see them at their peak once more. I particularly liked the juxtaposition of the rectangular 'box' holding the clouds, and covered by the cloud-like lilacs. An amazing photo.

i love lilacs too dimple.
we have three big bushes of them in our front lawn...two purple ones and one white.
other than roses, i think that they have the nicest perfume.
this year, the heat took them away too quickly.
on sisterhood of the scarf sisters, i crowned mrs. mac the lilac princess of idaho..she has had this title for a few years now!
again a great post dimple...love terry
