Credit Where It is Due

I like to make photographs, and I enjoy being praised for what I have done. But God teaches a different attitude, one of thankfulness and humility. He pointed that out to me recently. I DO NOT MAKE THESE PHOTOGRAPHS ALONE. I didn't create the light, or the technology which makes photography possible. I didn't buy my camera, it was a gift from my husband. I didn't give myself the ability to see through the camera in order to make an image which others find pleasing. It is right to use what I have been given to the best of my ability, but it is wrong to take credit for what I have not done. God made the light, the elements which are used to manufacture the camera, and the world from which these images come. He has given me gifts: people to teach me, eyes to see with, and a brain to process information. I am thankful for these gifts. He deserves all the praise, not I.

Clouds and Flowers

It's been raining, windy, and cold today, and it's supposed to continue many days more.
But we have had some good weather;
this was taken on a good-weather day, about a week ago.

For some reason this makes me think of the Wizard of Oz.

Ok, so I am odd.

I love the way the sun shines through the petals of the flowers! Unusual to see it in black and white, though...

Lovely. The b/w was an unusual choice, but it works so well. :)

So airy and clear.
After hottest summer 2010 with fires around the city and lack of oxygen, I decided that I would never complain about the rain in the summer)))

Hiya Louise,
A picture like this could convert me to black and white...very special effect.
A mixture of mystery and promise.

Beautiful Dimple. They sky is the finishing touch on this fine image. Great choice for B&W. Color would be a distraction.

Bullwinkle was my hero. I have little figures of Rocky and Bullwinkle that I found in Toys R Us one day. When I was in the Air Force, I would only use my Bullwinkle C. Moose imitation when speaking with an NCO. LOL

Those look like pear blossoms. Are they?

I ALMOST LOST MY SHADOW

I almost lost my shadow,
I left it in the park;
I heard my mommy calling,
For it was getting dark;

She has no use for shadows,
She thinks they are quite grim,
And when she saw my shadow,
She thought it was a “him.”

I had to educate her
And tell her it was “she’
And now my faithful shadow
Is welcome as can be!

Dimple darling this is pure beauty!! I must say it is one of my favorite photos so far. The sky. The b&w just grabs the viewer. Perfect!! Happy SSS and Memorial Day.

The composition of your photo is so nice! The perspective is neat, these flowers on branches, from this vantage point, seem to reach tall into the sky. Perhaps my eyes playing tricks on me! Another lovely Gem State view!

The magic of blossom, there's just something about it. Beautiful capture.

A very very awesome photo! Fantastic job on this one. Weather here erratic as well, but I did get a few hours ouy on the motorcycle yesterday before the sky opened up. I stayed dry. It started raining right after I pulled up to the garage.
Very nice shot!
