Reflected Sky

Soaring
Walking one day, eyes on the ground
What are those shadows, soaring around?
Quickly lifting my gaze, this sight met my eyes:
Long-pinioned birds, sailing the skies!
(The birds are turkey vultures.)

This first one was converted directly to black & white,
No other adjustments were made.
This second one was first converted to sepia, and then to black & white.

Wet Blue Reflections
The small seasonal stream is flowing now.
It runs over rocks
Around clumps of grass and fir cones
And by cedar fronds,
Reflecting bits of blue sky and white clouds
All along its course.
