An Old Building

This is scanned from a 35mm print which was taken about 1974. I cropped it a little, retouched a few damaged spots, and adjusted the colors.

I don't know if this building still stands, or why it was built.

But I think it makes a great photo!

This was taken just outside the gate of Scotts Bluff National Monument in western Nebraska.

The Geese on Fry Creek

Here I am, back at my favorite spot for taking pictures.

I visit this place often!

These Canada Geese are feeding, swimming among and casting some marvelous reflections!

This is an uncropped image of the same area. There were other goose families on this inlet, also.

Soon they will start practicing for their fall migration.

In South Dakota

We just returned from a road trip to Indiana and Nebraska. We were on the interstate highways a LOT. Now, one nice thing about interstate highways is the availability of rest areas. They vary from state to state, but offer an opportunity to stand up, walk around, and, if you're like me, take pictures! These shots were from one rest area in South Dakota. The frame of a concrete teepee...

This looks like it could have been set up as a sundial, too!

6/26/11 Note: Spadoman (see his comment below) informs me that they didn"t use notches, but that the poles were tied together. Thanks for educating me!
