Credit Where It is Due
I like to make photographs, and I enjoy being praised for what I have done. But God teaches a different attitude, one of thankfulness and humility. He pointed that out to me recently. I DO NOT MAKE THESE PHOTOGRAPHS ALONE. I didn't create the light, or the technology which makes photography possible. I didn't buy my camera, it was a gift from my husband. I didn't give myself the ability to see through the camera in order to make an image which others find pleasing. It is right to use what I have been given to the best of my ability, but it is wrong to take credit for what I have not done. God made the light, the elements which are used to manufacture the camera, and the world from which these images come. He has given me gifts: people to teach me, eyes to see with, and a brain to process information. I am thankful for these gifts. He deserves all the praise, not I.
oh wow! what a capture this is dimple! we have plenty of wasps down here in southern ontatio. we try not to kill them but last year there was a big hive of them on the garage where bernie was near by fixing his van and a whole bunch of them attacked him. he came into the house and i could see tears in his eyes as he explained to me, "i didn't want to terry, but i had to spray the hive and kill the hornets" he felt so bad. he has a heart of gold. what breaks my heart that in the spring people are forever shooting the robins just because they take a cherry or two from the tree. people aren't like you dimple. at least you were willing to share and you were rewarded by being able to take such a great shot!...love terry
PERBS & Lisannerosalie-I dried the hips to use in tea. As NitWit mentioned, they are a source of Vitamin C, and some people use them to make jelly.
Terry-I am not always so accepting of wasps, but I have found if I leave them alone, they will leave me alone. However, they are very protective of their nests, so Bernie did the right thing, even if he didn't like it!
Very nice photo. Those rosehips are beautiful. Now that the first frost has come, I can gather mine. I think the wasp is just getting his share of the vitamin C while he can.
I don't argue with wasps, never. They are beautiful creatures perfectly made from the creators hand. Nevertheless we don't socialize well. From felisol
Second try at a comment here - the first one was taken over by an ad - these looked like cranberries or something at first, as you have removed most of the blossom ends! Had me confused for a minute! I will have to try making the jelly, one of these days!

You'd best leave the wasp alone! Great capture and gorgeous red!
I would also let Mr. Wasp wander around on his own . . . while praying that he will soon "bee" gone!

Love the rose hips and wasp if you were not hurt! Many natural formulas of Vit C have rose hips which supposedly enhance the Vit C.

bugs don't bother me, I adore bees and spiders but I will admit that wasps scare me
