Credit Where It is Due
I like to make photographs, and I enjoy being praised for what I have done. But God teaches a different attitude, one of thankfulness and humility. He pointed that out to me recently. I DO NOT MAKE THESE PHOTOGRAPHS ALONE. I didn't create the light, or the technology which makes photography possible. I didn't buy my camera, it was a gift from my husband. I didn't give myself the ability to see through the camera in order to make an image which others find pleasing. It is right to use what I have been given to the best of my ability, but it is wrong to take credit for what I have not done. God made the light, the elements which are used to manufacture the camera, and the world from which these images come. He has given me gifts: people to teach me, eyes to see with, and a brain to process information. I am thankful for these gifts. He deserves all the praise, not I.

These are beautiful. It does make such a difference in the photos when the lighting is perfect. Mickie :)
My color blind BIL takes great pictures. He was once a little hesitant because of his deficiency, but I told him then that it was most about light, which he could see very well.
It is wonderful to see these beautiful winter trees. Not something we see in this part of the states. Thank you.
That beautiful light really lifts your spirits.... Lovely photos.
Hello Dimple.

Gorgeous winter wonderland! No snow here this year, mild and rainy...
Ohhhhh! Beautiful -- speechless!

Wow! As powerful as the redwoods in California! Frosted, no less!
Wishing you a Happy New Year, Louise!

Nuts in May
That last is so lovely! We've had no snow or frost at all this Christmas - it's been very dull.
Just one of the ponies let me stroke its nose; they soon began trying to nibble my camera so I had to gently shoo them away :)
Best wishes for 2012!
Happy New Year Dimple! :)
Beautiful pictures of the tree and forest! And so very beautiful sky below, Christmas Sunrise! So great that your sister gave you a call! :)
My best wishes for you in 2012! :)
Thanks for your lovely comment! May your year be blessed, too! :)
Captivating winter scenery pictures!
The first three pictures display three elements: erect trees, snow , and the sky above. The light is strong here.
The last picture is somewhat different. It shows tree-branches, not whole trees, some leaves, less light. The branches are down on the earth as if symbolizing defeat of autumn. This is my favorite among the pictures in this post.
Happy New Year!
....and your light shines brightly sweetie. Your photos just have me in total awe.
Beautiful job!!!
God bless and have a marvelous weekend girl! :o)
Hi Dimple,
I have given you an award. Just go to my blog to pick it up. I have no idea how to put a link in a comment, sorry.
Gorgeous light in all these images.
Wishing you much happiness in the new year Dimple!
Louise,
YOur photos are amazing. I have not been able to visit blogs the past weeks because I am visiting my daughter in Manila and there is no internet access in her place, except when I go to Starbucks for free wifi.
Your recent photos posted in "Christmas Sunrise" are lovely as well!
WIshing you a new year full of hope and peace!
Blessings
Lidia
I miss your lovely posts--hope you are just taking a short break and will be back soon. Have a nice weekend. Mickie :)
Finally got my new computer hooked up to cable and am back blogging occasionally again. Hope you will stop by sometime. I love the angles of your photos but mostly, I love the snow!
Beautiful, like in a fairy tale:). Have a nice day!
These are marvelous... if I have to choose, I'd say the last one is my favorite... maybe because of the bronze-y leaves caught in the thicket.
