Credit Where It Is Due

Credit Where It is Due

I like to make photographs, and I enjoy being praised for what I have done. But God teaches a different attitude, one of thankfulness and humility. He pointed that out to me recently. I DO NOT MAKE THESE PHOTOGRAPHS ALONE. I didn't create the light, or the technology which makes photography possible. I didn't buy my camera, it was a gift from my husband. I didn't give myself the ability to see through the camera in order to make an image which others find pleasing. It is right to use what I have been given to the best of my ability, but it is wrong to take credit for what I have not done. God made the light, the elements which are used to manufacture the camera, and the world from which these images come. He has given me gifts: people to teach me, eyes to see with, and a brain to process information. I am thankful for these gifts. He deserves all the praise, not I.

Look at the Light

Photography is all about light. These were taken on a light-filled day. I hope you enjoy them!

These are beautiful. It does make such a difference in the photos when the lighting is perfect. Mickie :)

My color blind BIL takes great pictures. He was once a little hesitant because of his deficiency, but I told him then that it was most about light, which he could see very well.

It is wonderful to see these beautiful winter trees. Not something we see in this part of the states. Thank you.

That last is so lovely! We've had no snow or frost at all this Christmas - it's been very dull.

Just one of the ponies let me stroke its nose; they soon began trying to nibble my camera so I had to gently shoo them away :)

Best wishes for 2012!

Captivating winter scenery pictures!

The first three pictures display three elements: erect trees, snow , and the sky above. The light is strong here.

The last picture is somewhat different. It shows tree-branches, not whole trees, some leaves, less light. The branches are down on the earth as if symbolizing defeat of autumn. This is my favorite among the pictures in this post.

Happy New Year!

Louise,
YOur photos are amazing. I have not been able to visit blogs the past weeks because I am visiting my daughter in Manila and there is no internet access in her place, except when I go to Starbucks for free wifi.

Your recent photos posted in "Christmas Sunrise" are lovely as well!

WIshing you a new year full of hope and peace!

Blessings

These are marvelous... if I have to choose, I'd say the last one is my favorite... maybe because of the bronze-y leaves caught in the thicket.
